The dicomPACS® prosthesis documentation module is a modular extension to the dicomPACS® basic package from Oehm and Rehbein and is used for both the planning and documentation of operations.
To plan operations with the prosthesis documentation module, digital templates can be superimposed on the digital X-ray image or existing prosthesis templates on films can be used.
For the planning or documentation of operations using digitized prosthesis templates, these can simply be selected from an existing library and superimposed on the X-ray image. As the software is constantly being further developed, the predefined set of prosthesis templates is continuously expanded accordingly.
In order to plan an operation with existing foil prosthesis templates, a film-identical representation of the image on the monitor is required. For this purpose, the digital X-ray image is displayed in the same size as a corresponding analog X-ray image. The foil prosthesis templates can now be placed on the monitor and transferred to the digital X-ray image, saved and printed using the software's integrated drawing function.
