The add-on module dicomPACS® Upper Cervical (NUCCA) and Standard Chiropractic Tools is a modular extension to the basic dicomPACS® package from Oehm and Rehbein and includes diagnostic tools for ideal treatment.

This software package was developed together with leading experts from Canada and the United States with the aim of achieving a fast and accurate diagnosis. A variety of templates, such as Relatoscope, Grid, Circumscale or Cephalometer, are offered to tie in with the familiar working environment.

Furthermore, numerous options are provided for planning further treatments. For example, after manual marking of desired points, center lines, center points, defined curves and angles are automatically generated. Of course, this additional module also includes all standard functions, such as distance measurement, angles and Cobb angles, as well as many others.

In times of digitalization and artificial intelligence, the contribution to be made by software is becoming increasingly dominant. Choosing the right software package is therefore an essential decision.

In the following example, the result of one of the many special functions - X-ray without grid or GLI (gridless imaging) - of the dicomPACS® software environment can be admired (by moving the slider).

When X-raying larger extremities, a scatter grid is used as standard to focus the X-rays in order to improve image quality. The use of intelligent image processing with GLI completely eliminates the need for a physical grid. At the same time, the applied dose can be reduced.

GLI scatter reduction applies a virtual grid to images that were taken without a grid using the software. The amazing result: improved contrast and excellent image quality. Difficulties that can arise due to improper alignment of a physical screen are now a thing of the past.
