The add-on module dicomPACS® MobileView is a modular extension to the dicomPACS® basic package from Oehm und Rehbein and represents the web-based version of a PACS viewer for PCs or mobile devices, without restricting the important functionalities.

With the software, the entire image material from the dicomPACS® system can be accessed worldwide via an Internet connection, even outside the practice. Access is almost browser-independent, with the use of the latest streaming technologies ensuring high loading speeds.

In addition to the pure reporting of X-ray images from the database, it is also possible to enter report texts and export them accordingly. Furthermore, additional documents can be attached and exchanged. Of course, the touchscreen function familiar from the basic package is also supported.

In times of digitalization and artificial intelligence, the contribution to be made by software is becoming increasingly dominant. Choosing the right software package is therefore an essential decision.

In the following example, the result of one of the many special functions - X-ray without grid or GLI (gridless imaging) - of the dicomPACS® software environment can be admired (by moving the slider).

When X-raying larger extremities, a scatter grid is used as standard to focus the X-rays in order to improve image quality. The use of intelligent image processing with GLI completely eliminates the need for a physical grid. At the same time, the applied dose can be reduced.

GLI scatter reduction applies a virtual grid to images that were taken without a grid using the software. The amazing result: improved contrast and excellent image quality. Difficulties that can arise due to improper alignment of a physical screen are now a thing of the past.
