Röntgen Service AG was founded in 1973 and today - with over 50 years of experience - is one of the leading providers of digital X-ray systems in Switzerland. Our solutions are used in human and veterinary medicine as well as in industry. We support our customers from consulting and planning through sales, installation and training to service and support, covering the entire range of modern X-ray technology.
We are continuously developing our portfolio in line with technological progress. In human medicine, our focus is on stationary, digital X-ray systems. For veterinary medicine, we offer stationary and portable systems as well as solutions for digital dental X-rays. In the industrial sector, we provide a wide selection of portable, digital X-ray systems that cover a comprehensive range of applications. We supply the appropriate acquisition and image management software (PACS) for all systems. The highest quality standards are a matter of course for us: we have an ISO-13485-certified quality management system and employ highly qualified specialist staff.
In the beginning, our focus was on analog X-ray systems in human medicine. One milestone was the independent development of an X-ray generator - a product that is still in use in some cases today. As our experience grew, we expanded our business to include veterinary medicine and industrial applications. For more than ten years, we have consistently relied on digital systems, which have completely replaced analog technology. Nevertheless, we continue to offer our customers support for existing analog systems. Over the decades, we have also collected numerous historical radiography exhibits, which we present in our company's own Radiography Museum and are happy to make accessible by appointment.
As a traditional family business owned by the Widmer family, we consciously focus on independence - far removed from purely profit-oriented investment companies. This approach allows us to focus entirely on the needs of our customers and ensure the long-term stability of our company. Since 2021, Röntgen Service AG has been managed with commitment and pride by the third generation.
In our small museum, our founding father, Xaver Widmer, has built up a collection of objects and literature from the history of X-raying that is probably unique in Europe. In addition to X-ray tubes that are over 100 years old, the first commercially used X-ray systems can also be admired. The museum was gradually expanded and now shows the technical development of X-ray systems from the 1920s through to modern digital X-ray systems.
